SVVSCC Announces The 2009 Hershey Vintage Hillclimb has been cancelled.

Due to the sweeping effects of the current economic crisis in this country and construction at the top of the Hershey Hill, the Board of Directors of the Susquehanna Valley Vintage Sports Car Club Region of The AACA have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2009 event that had been scheduled for May 2nd and 3rd.

As the national news has been covering failing banking institutions and such over the last few months, many facets of the automobile world have been sent reeling. The SVVSCC is sympathetic of, as well as responsive to, its affects upon our supporting automotive agencies, vendors and all of us as consumers. The financial health of our involved and advertising businesses, supported by our personal economies, are vital to the overall success of the Hershey Vintage Hillclimb, reaching from board rooms and into our homes. But that does not mean we are going away.

The SVVSCC will immediately begin working with HERCO and the Milton Hershey School for our 'Return to the Hill' in 2010. We believe that this additional time will allow us to come back with a bigger and better Hershey Vintage Hillclimb. With our in-town relationships to The AACA National Offices and Museum, our partnering alliances are strong and determined toward our success.

Our 2010 Featured Marque will recognize the street-performance and racing accomplishments of the Ford Motor Company. A special Car Corral will be set aside for those Ford cars that will surely include AC Cobras and Mustangs. At this time it is anticipated that the only AC Cobra to ever claim the overall win at the original Hershey Hillclimbs will be with us as part of a very special display. Acknowledging that the Cobra/GT40/Daytona Coupe 'kit car' fraternity is a rapidly growing side of the car hobby, an area will be reserved for them.

Participation in The Hershey Vintage Hillclimb is open to compliant sports cars, speedsters and touring cars from the advent of the horseless carriage to 1985.

Individuals or organizations who would like to be involved in the 2010 'Return to the Hill' should use the appropriate contacts found on ~Our SVVSCC Website~. Information, requirements and registration on all of the SVVSCC Region events may also be found there.
