I know I'm not alone when I consider that it was near-sacrilege to put the MG name and badge on a Metro! Maestro too, for that matter.
 
I actually had one of these, a 1982 as well. Not a bad little car, lots of fun to drive, and we were able to get two kids, a Labrador, plus luggage, in the back of the thing for a week away in Wales.

If I had the spons, then I would consider this.
