Hi all - as Henri has changed course again, and now our corner of Connecticut is expecting the highest wind speeds as well as the highest rainfall amounts.

Ground is still saturated from July's rains, so flooding is again expected. That means more trees down, power out, and no internet, telephone, or TV.

Outages might last a week or two. Wish us luck!

Tom, Watching Henri on the weather channel, I was just thinking about you and wondering how things were in your area! I hope you guys get through this mess without any damage! Keeping you and all the folks in this situation in our prayers. Paul

Keeping fingers, toes, and eyes crossed: rain and wind were less than forecast, altho' rain continues. Power outages being resolved faster than expected.

Emergency whole-house generator worked perfectly - just installed it two months ago.

Onward through the fog.

Good news! How about the basement dam diversion thing?
 
Our son (at the wheel in my profile picture ) and his wife are in Groton at the Sub base— their power is back on after only a few hours. Could’ve been much worse, although we did see a major street in Hartford completely flooded!
 
Henri was a no show in SW CT. Lots of rain and very little wind. Thank God - I've got 3 or 4 trees threatening my house and driveway. Got two estimates: $6,300 and "about $2,000." Got to get these things down before the next storm. I've already had 4 trees come down in the driveway area and the back lot but none near the house - yet. New Englanders love their trees but...they fall on houses and wires here all the time.
 
Tom, how close to the coast are you? Hope you weather the storm relatively unscathed.
