Hendrix Wire Wheel

Well, I just bit the bullet and started the process of getting new wires and and tires for the TR3. I called Hendrix the other day and spoke to Allen about what I was looking for. I wanted 5" wide rims with 185/70 tires in paint, NOT chrome. I feel the look is more appropriate to the TR3, plus they cost $70 less per wheel. Well, Allen said that it would be at least three weeks before he could get them in and suggested that I call Britt at Moss, tell them Allen from Hendrix told you to call him and ask him for a killer deal on the wheels.

I brought up the fact that Moss is selling the Dunlops and "I thought they weren't as good as the Daytons." He said that in the past that was the case, but he said that all Dunlops he's seen recently have been every bit as good as the Daytons...with the exception that the chrome plating isn't quite up to the quality of the Daytons. Well, no problem here, as I'm going for the painted ones.

Today I called Britt at Moss, and he did give me a killer deal and will drop ship to Hendrix. Then he'll do his magic, install the tires and tubes, and I should be ready to roll in about a week and a half. :driving:

I have nothing but high praise for Allen at Hendrix. He saved me time and money at his own expense. He put it to me this way.."If I can save you some money, and I can make some money putting the wheels and tires together, we'll all be happy."

It is very refreshing to find people like Allen at Hendrix and Britt at Moss.

Art, I have to second what you say about Hendrix wire wheel. I live within striking distance of them so later this month or early April, I'm going to load up my goodies and bring them over to him for his wheeel service. Very easy to talk to and he was very willing to take care of me. Kind of be a mini-vacation for my wife and I and I will have wheels that are professionally set up.

We are very fortunate to have vendors of that quality!
