Just got the most recent issue of Hemmings Sports & Exotic magazine in the mail, and attached to it was a letter indicating that this would be the final issue. I've been a subscriber since issue #2 after I saw issue #1 at a local grocery store at about the same time I was looking to get into the old car world. It's the only magazine I've kept every issue of, makes up part of my research library.

I'm not surprised that they're shutting down the magazine -- that's a tough business to be in these days. Still, even in these technologically varied days I was always excited to see the new issue in the mail. I'll miss it.

Count me as one who looked forward to each new issue. My favorite magazine.

I thought that they'd survive over the other magazines.
I met a few of the writers for them, when I was in Vermont,& was impressed
with their knowledge,& that they were true "Car Guys".
The other ones deserved to die before this one.

rats, that is really too bad. I loved how they did a lot of stories on oddball cars, driveable dreams and original owner stories. Only car magazine I would read cover to cover. In fact, I had kind of a depressing weekend, and just thought, well I have a new issue of Sports and Exotic, at least I can go read that. I know I still can, but rats (since this is a family freindly forum). I get Classic Motorsports from time to time, but they seem to focus more on the high end and I just don't enjoy it as much.

I had a complete set of Hemmings "Special Interest Autos" which I gave away when we were downsizing, but I still have access to it if needed as the current owner of the set volunteers with me at America On Wheels museum. When they switched to Hemmings "Classic Cars" I let Hemmings know that I was disappointed the it missed a major part of the old car hobby, so I was glad when "Sports and Exotic" came out. I have been getting all four Hemmings magazines in a digital package, so I wonder if the price for the multi-magazine will be the same for 3 magazines.
