Tahoe, you got to get rid of that battery. I had one short out at speed on the four lane with boat in tow. felt like someone dropped the anchor. that was after spending two weeks telling myself that the intermitten miss in the SUV couldn't be the battery because each time it wonderously corrected itself, I had good voltage. The cells are shorting out due to 8 years of deposits from all those charge cycles. (mine was 8 years old). Also I don't think the variation you are noticing in your dizzy can be causing loss of voltage.
 
No, it appears that I have two different problems (at least). The battery is an easy one. I just sent the dizzy out cause it needed it. I've got to trust her cause on the mountain roads around here you get no cell reception. I wont go into the time I ran out of gas.
