Wedge Help with TR7 Fuel Gauge replacement

I finally got around to buying a fuel gauge for the TR7. It was a NOS gauge for only $15.

Now here's the question: is there an easy way to get at the gauge? There's no gauge in there, and I've never even looked at what needs to be unscrewed to get the gauge in.

And one of these days I'll even solve the lift-off backfire problem too!

If I recall you need to take the top of the dash off, disconnect the various connectors to the instrument panel and pull the cluster out as a whole. All the screws are pretty easy to get to and when I replaced the temp gauge on mine it was pretty straightforward

You need to take the top of the dash off, and then the plastic face plate. There are 2 small screws that hold in the fuel gauge. Take them out, and the gauge pulls straight out. No need to remove the entire instrument cluster. Should be (remember Murphy's law) a rather quick painless job.

Thanks ObiRichKanobi! Somehow I just knew it would be you to come to my rescue!

I'll go make the attempt.
