TR6 help with tr6 hardtop value

I've got a original hardtop, bought probably in late 70's, I may have to sell. Hopefully I can keep my tr6. The hardtop is maroon, all intact. I know these things go for 1500.00 to 2000.00, just wanting some feedback before I list it. It just seems kind of crazy, I try to value my tr6, which doesn't go for much more. Anyway, help would be appreciated, and could get some pictures this weekend if that would help.

More experienced voices will follow, but I've seen hard tops sit for months without selling, then go for under $500. And I've seen them snatched up for $1500 in a few days. Not exactly the most active market in the world.

Some guys want the hardtop "to have a complete car". But many owners never actually use them.

Do a search on eBay for these, and check the box "Completed Listings". That'll give you an idea.

What is the condition? How is the paint, headliner, Chrome trim? How are the seals,Windows etc. does it have the mounting kit....lots of variables that will effect the price.

I bought mine about 6 years ago, original paint, good headliner, glass, seals, trim plus mounting kit for $550...

If I had to guess on average, most go for between $800-1200

i think you got a pretty good deal, mine sounds very similar. I guess there is some wishful thinking there on my part.

As noted above the market is pretty thin for these, you can always out it on eBay with a reserve and see what happens.
