Help with specs for '74 thermostat housing

Need to know the specs on the thermostat housing,
if anybody can help.

Looks to be a 5/16 fine thread, as usual; but I don't
want to guess and have to chase new threads or worse yet
order another housing and wait for it to come.

PS: I'm still kicking....just too darned busy. Feast or
famon. When I'm going hungry, got more time to work; then
play catch-up major. The calm before the storm.
 
Used SS on mine. Not a lot of pressure on those bolts
 
One of the best things you can add to your tool box is a set of thread gauges. Get one for SAE threads, and one for metric. Take the guesswork out of figuring out what those threads are. They can be had for a few bucks each.
 
And stainless fasteners are CHEAP insurance. With antiseize you're golden! :wink:
