Can anyone tell me where this part goes on my 1960 BT7? It's a piece of steel about 17 inches long, folded in a U shape about 3/8" wide. Painted black. The U opening is a little more than 1/8" wide. Looks like it may fit on a piece of interior panel but I don't remember.
BTW, the car is at the body shop and should be painted next week. I'm getting excited.

Look on the hardware that works the door opener. I think it goes from the internal door handle to the latch. Hard to tell from the pictures, but that is my bet.

Jerry, The door piece you mentioned is not U shaped but rather a flat piece of 1/8" steel. The piece in question is made from sheet metal.
 
There is nothing like that on my BT7.

I also have a BT7 (Project) and don't think it goes on a BT7. I also looked completely though the BN7/BT7 parts list, and could not find anything that looked like your part.
