Help with oil pipe banjo bolt.

I have the early oil filter setup, but noticed in the Moss catalog that the banjo bolt that attaches on the end of the oil pipe is the same for all the early and late oil filters. The problem is that this part (the banjo bolt) is listed for $66.95! Surely this must be a misprint, but if it isn't, is there another source for this? Thanks, Jim

That sure seems like a lot of money. If that is Moss part number 114-045 you can get it from Little British Car Co. for $56.91 but that still is a lot for just a bolt.

It's very special...
IIRC it's hollow with a hole in it to allow passage of oil into the banjo. So yes, it is special and you need the right one, so it's also expensive.
I'll bet someone here has a used one they would part with.

Thanks, Rick. Shipping could not be too much.

Might want to contact them, I put it in a cart and the shipping was ridiculously low.

Jim,
PM me, I have one and will be back in the city beautiful(Orlando) on Monday.
I'll dig it out this weekend

If Phil can help you out, great.

For future reference, this is part 2A715 and it was standard on all A-series (and A+) engines up until 1990. You don't have to buy it from Moss. Mini Mania and others sell the part also (new at MM for $13). If you don't need new, Mini Mania also sells a used one for $7.

Be very careful taking that all apart from the filter head etc, I found out the hard way and bent and cracked the tube, it is not available, luckily I had a friend with the comlplete set up.
Getting it back into proper position is a little bit of a challenge.

As is taking one from a 1275 and using it on a 948.
NAPA sells hydraulic line as in the type used on tractors, so there are ways of making thongs work if need be...

Thanks to all. I found the banjo bolt in the bottom of an old jar of bolts I got from the previous owner. You never know what you are going to find.

I managed to break the oil pipe on my spare 1275. A part that shows as NLA. A piece of rubber hose holds things together now but I need to find a replacement before that engine gets put back in service. Will be using external spin on filter. Anyone got a spare.
