Help with instillation of heat shield on tranny

Purchased the blanket type heat shielding material from British Victoria to install under the tranny cover and floor carpeting.

1. What is the best type of adhesive to use, and where is the best place to purchase?

2. Attempted to cut with wife's sissors. Almost broke my fingers. Very tuff stuff. Any suggestions as to the best method of cutting this "stuff".

HI, 3M's Industial spray thermoset adhesive should work ok if the surface is clean, it can be obtained at most discount auto or hardware stores.

I really do not know what product you have but it is judged that it may be cut accurately using a good sharp pair of tin snips.

Additionally, an aluminised tape should be used to seal the front, back and bottom side edges. See;Pegausus Auto Racing Item # 1834--Fwiw--Keoke

If this is the thick material be careful that it does not short out any of the overdrive contacts.

Re: Help with instillation of heat shield on trann

Thanks for the feedback. Michael, I had not thought about the OD relay switch shorting out on the aluminum backing of the insulation. Will insure that this issue is addressed when I install the tranny.

As usual, the people on this site come through when I need info. Thanks to all for responding to my questions.
