Hi guys, I got this fiberglass front end in a trade. i thought it was an older Ashley front end but now i dont know what it is. Its very light, maybe lighter than you would want to use on the street. maybe its a one off, i have no idea. Is well made though so its misleading, maybe its an Ashley front end made with less layers for racing? maybe someone here can help me out. thanks

Nice, wish I could find something like that for our new 'build from scratch' Midget project.

Wow, you guys are good! thats exactly what it is. So this thing was probly made in the 60s or 70s. I probably wont even end up using it, I wonder what its worth. Im guessing they are not made anymore.

Actually do you know about the Spridget List?
These come up once in a while and I believe a member on the list has the mold and makes a batch once in a while. If you'd like details about the list let me know and I'll PM or email you about it.

Looks good. Since there is a good chance it is pretty rare I bet it is worth a lot.

Cool

Value depends on condition.
I've heard of them selling for a couple hundred up.

Actually, these are probably among the least rare of the period examples. I see them come up for sale quite often and you can see several examples on the page link JP included. I've seen many, many more.

So, speaking/writing of body front-ends... I just saw this photo on the other Sprite forum (Spritespot.com). A Bugeye rear (with round wheel wells) and proper front grill, but what about those headlights and front fenders? I've never seen such a modication. This shot is a period '60s photo. What the heck is it? A Mark 1.5?!

Swiss adaptation made by Emil Frey AG, Flurstrasse 44, Zurich, Switzerland, utilises stock grille and most of the stock hardware components.

Also on my web site.

Wow, I actually think I prefer this to the bugeye. I just watched interviews with Gerry Cocker and he was saying how he didn't want the headlights on the hood like that. Stupid regulations...but then what would it be called? Also, imagine how different the car would look without those big eyes!

Some years ago I cut down a beat up set of Spridget fenders and make a "slantnose". I hung them on the race car just to see how they'd look.

I never really finished them properly, but still have them. Headlights would probably have to go in the grill area.

Talonaer- ill send you this kellison bonnet if you send me a sebring one lol.
aeronca65t- that car looks like a mean race car.

I believe that would be a small fortune! lol, I emailed Peter May once about shipping a fiberglass front end, i think he quoted me $565 for shipping! That was more than the front end cost. its 2012, where are the flying cars and telepods.
