Hey All,
Anyone have a good idea on how to clean a canvas top
that is still in great shape but a lot of dirt and grime
and stains from being stored for quite a few years. Hate
to change it out but just not sure what to try to use to
clean it up.
Thanks,
Mike

Same way you clean canvas tops of boats.

Hey Tony,
Not being stupid but how do you clean the canvas top on a boat ???
This is a canvas top from Moss on a 1947 MG TC BTW.

I live on the coast so there are plenty of boat dealers around
here so I'll call one tomorrow and see what they suggest. Thanks
for the recommendation.
Regards,
Mike

Mike...didn't mean to be a sm@rt@$$....I've been told by oldtimers that they used the same products as were used on old ChrisCraft canvas...but I don't know what those products are....sorry, if I came across the wrong way.

Hey Tony,
Didn't take it that way at all !!! I tend to be wordy on my posts and some
are short and to the point. I'll let everyone know what I find out from
talking with some boat dealers.
Thanks,
Mike

If your interested, there is a product called 'Plexus' that was designed for the plexiglass canopy of fighter aircraft... managed to get most of the 'yellow' off my original sidescreens and rear window! Works extremely well in filling in all the little scratches!

Thanks for the tip !!! Unfortunately this TC does not have any side curtains
but the dirty top's window is nice and clear. wish it was yellowed and canvas
was clean !
Regards,
Mike
