Help ....No oil pressure

Got the motor fired up and discovered no oil pressure right away.........Have taken pan off and pulled oil pump out and examined.....Everything appears OK....took oil pressure relief valve out ....OK i,m searching for divine guidance

Got the drive spindle for the pump installed properly (#73)?
All pump gaskets are good and the pickup screen is clear?
Four quarts of oil (or so) in the engine?
Oil filter is not plugged or installed wrong?
You can always buy a simple, mechanical oil pressure gauge and screw it into the block for a direct reading.
Try using compressed air to blow back through the oil pressure relief hole to see if there's any gunk in there.
Did you disassemble the pump to look at the rotors?

Yes i,ve checked the oil pump screen.......NOt clogged and put pump back in and rotated engine by hand......pump is turning.........Took oil line off at sender and no oil comes out.....Then took whole piece out of block and make sure small hole was not plugged but it wasn,t......New oil filter on but i,m going to try another ......and i,m putting back in the oil pump from the old engine just to see........Really don,t want to have to strip engine apart again, but now worried one of the galleys is plugged or something silly........Thanks for the suggestion though guys /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/canpatriot.GIF /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
