It's a Smith's part number but I have never come across this one. Any clues? I found it in the trunk with a bunch of stuff.

Seat belt buzzer? I bet if you put 12v to it it will make some noise. I pulled one out of a Midget years ago, and it looked similar to that.

Seatbelt pressure switch. Under the seats in the foam of the cushions.

After I posted I stared at the pic a bit. The plug end looked familiar and that was my guess. I guess this must be a bad one if it was in the trunk unless they were removed.

Most all of 'em were either removed or at least unplugged. See how far you can throw it! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Now now doc. If it was put in the car from the factory it must need to be there for some sort of saftey reason. You're not telling me to act in an unsafe manner are you?

Oh Heavens NO, Vince!!!

I just like the funny li'l "whizzzz" noise they make as they fly thru th' air. Thought you'd find it amusing as well.

We ALL know that hindering a safety device is anti-social if not felonious! Mia culpa! After th' tossing trials, by all means it would be recommended you retrieve the thing and remount it back into the seat cushion!

Sound advice. chk chk "PULL" Bang!

Ahhh, put it on eBay as a rare item, Hah.

For Sale;

"One, used, Rare, Smith's "butt switch" with wiring harness"

I like it!

My Uncle Fred had a buddy named Joe who knew a guy who never wore a seatbelt. I hear tell this guy was in a car accident and would have burned to death if he had been wearing a seatbelt. I say throw the thing away before it kills you.
