Got my first British car a few months ago. Runs good but the wiring was crap. I am proficient with electricity so I am rewiring the car with a lot of custimization. Wish me luck.

Welcome!

For your peace of mind and those of future owners, I suggest you follow one of two paths regarding the wiring. Either stick with standard British wiring color codes or buy an aftermarket harness that has the wires marked with their function.

Wire made in the British color codes is available at Britishwiring.com (link below)

British Wiring should also be able to provide you a complete harness to OEM specs should you decide not to do this yourself.

The standard for most British car wiring is BS-AU7 (color table linked below)

Again, welcome and good luck with your project!

Welcome Mike - I'll second Doug's advice to use a wiring harness that is correct for your car and not just run random colored wires. Be sure to pop in at our Triumph forum here also to say hello and maybe post some pictures! (PS: I have a 78 Spitfire that is on my bucket list to restore)
