I've just joined the forum so I thought I'd share a bit about myself.

I'm 70, a retired engineer (EE), a veteran (6 years in the Navy 4+ of that on a WWII vintage diesel submarine) a native of the state of Iowa (originally a 'river rat' growing up on Iowa's 'east coast' on the Mississippi river). I've been involved with vintage vehicles for about 15 years now and I'm a life-long shade tree mechanic. My other non- British rides include a couple Volvo 1800's and some 70's era bikes (Honda 360 and Yamaha TY250A).

I'm here because I've JUST dipped a toe in the British car hobby by buying a '78 MG Midget. It's a nice solid driver with no rust to speak of (unusual for an Iowa car, I don't think it was ever driven in the winter) and a few nice modifications by the P.O. (nothing too extreme).

I've had it for all of two days now and I'm starting to find some things I hope to ask about here, but will do that with topic specific posts if I don't find the info I'm looking for by searching the archives.

With the Midget you will want to jump in at our "Spridgets" forum, which is sort of a combined forum for discussing Midgets and Sprites. Anyway, welcome from a fellow Vet (24 years AF).
