Haven't been on the forum for a looong time, pleased to see it gets better all the time! Cheers Basil!

Anyway, the resto of my car was finally completed in july this year. The car was delivered to me on a thursday, so I took a last minute decision (as always...) and decided the next day to drive to England. Four days, over 3000kms, unbearable heat...but a great trip anyway.

The car performed flawlessly. Shame I had to do the running in, but now it is done and I am enjoying it to the full /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Here is a pic of the finished lady:

Very nice... It looks beautiful.

And there's always time for another long trip now that the engine is broken in.

Thanks Sherlock, you are right the house is very nice, sadly not mine...
The car is without wheels as of today, but only till tomorrow. I had 3 flat tyres in the past 2 weeks. The incompetent guy who mounted the wire wheels didnt do it right, but tomorrow the problem is solved! Will see if I can figure out a way of recording the exaust sound, it is definetly something to be heard!

Yowza! Always liked the Touring-designed Astons, particularly in hardtop form. For some reasons the convertibles don't look quite so smooth.

Anyway, congratulations on getting the old girl up and running! Enjoy!

Beautiful! I am green with envy. That is truly a handsome car! I could think of a number of body parts I would gladly do away with if I could have one myself.

Do you have more pictures? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

WoW! Takes my breath away.

Just uploaded a couple more pics, but can't find thenm in the Members rides gallery...will try again tomorrow when Im wide awake...!

Danny

Welcome back! So tell us, when you're sitting in the car, do you dangle a cig from your lips, look in the mirror, and say "Bond...James Bond."

Very cool car!

Basil

Here is another pic whilst in France on the way to the UK. The stone to the left of the car is not a grave stone before anyone asks...It was just a stone with the name "DEUTZ" on it, since I happened to be in their wineyard!
Sorry about the size of the pic, I don't feel technically inclined lately...

RE: James Bond, I was waiting for my next trip up the Furka Pass, a goldfinger location, for that...and with a bit of luck I will meet a young blonde with a Mustang to race with, and, well you know how the story ends /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Good god that's a sexy car! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif Aston sure knew how to build 'em
With that paint job it looks like if I touched it, it would send ripples out from my fingers.
Excuse me, I have to go mop up the drool. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I think you should name it Pavlov. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Danny,
Great to have some class back at the forum -- you left and the whole place went to low-brow MG and Triumph guys (like me!;))

It looks spectacular! I like the darker color -- fairly rare, I would assume?

You should load an audio file of the engine's exhaust note just to add to our jealousy!

(I'm thinking -- I could trade you a couple Triumphs and a Corvette or two for that DB6!?!?)

Sam

Sammy,

You really think that your car collection would be worth Dannys Aston?
