Just purchased a 1959 AH Bugeye and am looking forward to being a part of the group. I'm a former, mostly, Mini owner (1962 Mini 850 and a 1973 Cooperized Mark III)... but let them go some time ago. Once had a 1956 100-4 but never got back into the big ones.

Anyway, I've gotten a bit lazy. Sought out a completely restored one. Just took delivery (today) on a very nice Sprite. And although I have a local mechanic buddy, I'll surely have questions for you all. Looks like a very fun and informative group.

Hi There Mark,

"Welcome" back to the "Wonderful World of LBCs". Introduce Yourself & Your Bugeye, (I had a `58 & always preferred the term "FROGEYE"), to all the good folks on the "Spridget Forum".

Best Wishes and Lots of Fun here and with Your "New/Old" Toy.

Russ

Welcome aboard, Mark!

Your philosophy with regard to a turn-key example is FLAWLESS, IMHO. They are for driving. Otherwise you'd be caught up in all the "might-as-wells" too many of us labour under! Well thought out!

Hi Mark, and welcome to the
Forum!! :savewave:

Thank you all. Yes, I actually prefer the term Frogeye (and my wife was born in England). Wasn't sure what was more commonly used in the postings.

Mark, my dear Horsemits (my wife/lifemate) was also born in England. Oldham to be specific. The "frogeye" designation is interchangeable. No worries!

The spousal unit here was born in Leeds (to Welsh parents), but they came to the States when she was young... and she returned in her 20s for a few years. She STILL doesn't have US citizenship (though we're thinking about finally settling that). I like the idea of her UK (EU) passport because we could consider retirement in France (or England).
