I bought my MGA for $300 in parts in 1973 having never worked on a car before. After two years of hard work, I was finally able to drive my car. I had a $99 paint job and happy with the result. After visiting the Road Atlanta races, I decided to go vintage racing. I read all the engine building books on British cars and found David Vizard's "A-Series racing" book had all the answers. I bought a crankshaft from Kent Prather, the MGA racing champ, and built my own motor. I enjoyed vintage racing for 20 years and that same race motor is still in my MGA today, running fine. I have accumulated four more British cars and enjoy keeping then in running condition. My son operates a British car repair shop here in Brandon, Mississippi and has too many customers. We have to turn away business and get to work on our favorite cars.
We are finishing the total restoration on a Bugeye Sprite this week then an E-Type engine and gearbox rebuild for the next project. Happy motoring, Keith
