Hello from Fredericton, NB, Canada.
I own 2 Classic Minis, but am kinda lookin' to expand
my grasp to owning another LBC...hopefully a Triumph or Midget or Bugeye....Triumph being my 1rst choice /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif. Late 60's I like the best.
Sorry, I am sopping wet behind the ears when it comes to Triumphs, but I like the looks of the TR-4's and what I think is called the TR-250's? Right-hand drive, or left hand drive.......both great in my books. My driving Mini is actually RHD and is a blast. My 78 is LHD.
If anyone knows of any el-cheapo Triumphs for sale in NB, give me a shout.
Thanks much and I hope to learn lots of stuff from you guys like I have from the Mini guys over @ www.minimania.com
PS-I might be pesuaded to part with my 78 Mini 1000 project car+ cash for a driving Triumph.
Cheers,
Mike in NB

Hi Mike,
I'm an expat from Nova Scotia now in Ontario - i bought my TR3 last year off of ebay with few regrets. I think you will find that the quality and price within Canada are fairly prohibitive - especially in eastern Canada where rust is a real problem. If you do go the route of bringing a car up from the states, here are some tid-bits of advice: i bought mine for about $3K (it obvously needed lots of work) the advantage was that the tax and duty (tax 15% and duty 6%) were based on the $3K purchase price - the only thing you need to consider in shipping is whether it is running or not. I learned the hard way that if the car can not be easily driven onto an open carrier, it will cost about twice as much to ship - i.e. from most places around $1K on open or $2K for enclosed - I used TFX and they took care of everything - hope that helps,

Re: Hello from Eastern Canada...any Triumphs FS he

There is an active British car club on PEI, some members owning Triumphs, and at least a few TR6s in Nova Scotia and on "the Rock", and while they may well not be interested in selling they might know of people with stalled restoration projects for sale.

As Kerry stated, there may not be much selection and you might have to consider looking outside the Maritimes to find a reasonable buy.
Good Luck, Simon.

Re: Hello from Eastern Canada...any Triumphs FS he

Thanks guys....that's what I was afraid of. I had to go to Ontario to get my 1rst Mini (project car) and to Wales (UK) to get my current driving Mini. (RHD and a blast to drive)
I appreciate the comments & details.
Cheers

Hi Mike;

I'm originally from Keswick Ridge, but now living in Upper Canada.

Have you checked our BATANS' or FABAC's website? Or, been down to talk to Ian in Oromocto? I knew a guy just outside of Dartmouth that had one for sale a couple years aog. Send me an email and I might be able to get an email/phone number for you.

I just saw a new listing on ebay for one in NB.
Item# 4635291478.

Looks like it won't be el-cheapo though.
