Hello from Cleveland!

I just got my 61 Bugeye today, my first Bugeye. I got in a few acclimation miles and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has been 25 years since my last old Brit car (a beater MGB).

This Sprite is a nice stock restoration done with the original engine and a smooth case gear box (not sure how to verify if original on that). It has steel wheels with correct hubcaps and bias-ply medium wide whites. It was originally Leaf Green and has been returned to leaf green.

I am sure I will be asking for lots of advice....

Welcome, Dave!

Love the Leaf Green color, and glad you've returned her to her rightful color!

Post pictures!

More soon.

Hi There Dave,

Real nice looking B/E. I personally like that "Leaf Green" color as well.

Enjoy the ride here.

Oh ya, I have a document from Hambro the importer regarding this BE. Long story short; it verifies the car's serial # and engine # among other things. I have also sent away for a British Heritage Certificate.

:savewave: Welcome! I know, not politically correct but it's so darn cute. There I said it.

Hi Dave, and welcome to the Forum! We just painted our Bugeye primrose yellow - the second choice was leaf green, it was a close call... You've got a great looking car!

Here it is.

Welcome, Dave! Great lookin' Frogeye.

East of you (G.O.T.L.) was my familial stompin' grounds as a youth. Loved summer, hated winter.

Lots of BE expertise here, good folk willing to share.

What is the difference between a Frogeye and a Bugeye? Having asked the question of the day that will send some of you holding your sides with laughter, I'm going to say it again. They are so darn cute and they always put a smile on my face. Looking at the 'Primrose Yellow', I just want to paint that front chrome high gloss black and extend it on both sides. Happy face time, for sure. Sorry Long, don't get your knickers in a twist but we ladies just love to decorate. There is no way they can look fierce.

Hi again all,
Primrose yellow is nice since it is a quiet yellow. I had a yellow 88 CRX-SI that was BRIGHT YELLOW. I never was thrilled with it but got used to it, primrose looks good!
Dave

Hi Judow - Ever since the Bugeye got his 1275 transplant last week he sure does think he's fierce - He's been trying to push the 100-6 around in the garage!

"Frogeye" in the UK and the "Bugeye" in the US is what wikipedia says. I know to some of you it was obvious but not to me. I thought maybe there was some tweaking difference. Now I'm feeling pleasantly smart.
