Hello everyone, I’m from Maine in USA. First off I’m blown away at how many people are on here and how far across the world everyone is. I’m fairly new to mechanics. About 5 years I’ve been doing it full time. I love BMW that’s what I’m good at. However, I saw this old 1989 Jaguar XJS v12… doesn’t run but I loved it, I think its a super cool car. and I know nothing about it. So I’m here to learn. I’ve learned things already I didn’t know I was interested in.

Not many XJS experts here but the few who are here are very good.
Do not attempt to start the engine before you get ALL the fluids and lines flushed and replace ALL the rubber components.
The 5.3 V12 can be resuscitated but that is not going to be a walk in the park.
Get a copy of "The Book" available free online which will answer many questions.
After you change all the fluids and the engine hoses determine "fuel, air and spark".
Don't just throw random parts at the car, you will go broke before you get it started.
I had nearly ZERO mechanical experience when I found my 94 V12 XJS.
That was the best car i ever owned, based on the driving experience.
