New member, currently engaged in therapeutic rebuild of a 1966 TR4A. Wife insists its just a freakin' excuse to avoid her, and the four little ones. I have assured her that this is a mental health issue for me, and I need to smell like gas and oil, 24/7. By the way I should mention that I bought my TR for $500 on ebay 3 years ago! It turned out to be everything I thought it would not be! It has been occupying her spot in the garage ever since. However, I have been recently observed driving, illegally, I might add, said vehicle around the neighborhood. My question to you is.... Why isn't she buying it?

Welcome to the board. I hope we can be of help in any questions you might have(car, not wife.) We still don't understand them.(wifes, not cars) Oh well, Good luck!

Theraputic,eh? I'll have to try that one on my wife. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

As my wife says, there are many worse places I can be beside in the garage!

I like the term "therapeutic rebuild." Hopefully, both you and the car will be in better condition when it's done!

Welcome!

Your wife, like mine, will soon realize "Just give me two more minutes and I'll come back inside" actually means "I'll continue wrestling with this darn bolt for 20 more minutes, then give up in a fit of cursing...then I'll come back into the house, wash up, and go to sleep."

My wife is very accepting of my car addiction! I'm a lucky man.

Welcome to the forum...we're glad to have another garage dweller contributing to the group.

My wife MADE me buy my Spider. She said I needed a hobby other than sitting in front of the computer all night playing games. She'd heard all the stories of the "fun little car" I had as a kid (a Spitfire) and told me to get another one so I would have something to do. Welcome to the forum!

My wife complains from time to time that I could be working on something more important in the house when I'm out in the garage working on the car. However, those complaints usually evaporate whenever she comes for a ride with me on a sunny day.

Welcome to the board!

Oh can I relate! "Honey, dinners ready!" "Ok, I'll be right in." By the time I get in my dinner is like a block of ice.

Welcome to our humble forum
