just wanted to say hello
to everyone here.

My father had a 59 Austin Healy when he was 19 and when i was growing up it's all i heard about. I've spend the last year and abit hunting for his car and found it. I also convinced the owner of the car to sell it so i may restore it. Kinda a long story but its how i ended up with my project.

She's in rough shaped and needs alot of luv'n; but after being inspired from some of the other restores i'm hopeful.

Well, since you've teased us, we need to hear the rest of the story!

Welcome to the party!

Hi Rob,

"Welcome" to the wonderful world of "LBCs" (Little British Cars).

Interesting story you have. Its quite remarkable that you actually found your Dads orig. car!

You really need to tell all of us the story as to how you did that.

What kind of Healey is it anyway?

Best Wishes from the Pocono Mtns of PA.

Very cool Rob! I found my old Jag I used to own in High School (sold it in 72) and it is still in great shape! Unfortunately the current owner will not part with it.

Thank you for the warm welcome,
Its still kinda a long story...so here is short version...
I talked to alot of my fathers old friends among other things... My father provided the final clue. It turns out he had a street name from a party he went to a few years ago (he couldn't remember the house number just the street). I just had to go door to door and sound like a crazy person hopeing they haven't moved.

He had one heck of a smile on his face when we picked it up. (Don't think i'll every forget that)

Unfortunately it wasn't his orginal car he was mistaken. Turns out to be a 62 3000mkII. Which is a very beautiful car and also a great car for us to restore.
I put in my garage and started planning how to make room for this project when low and behold my father has climbed over the rusted door and is sitting in the driver seat. He's playing with the shifter and flipping the overdrive switch.
We spend the evening sitting in the garage together talking about the car which was great.

Now i'm doing alot of research and planning.
I have quite a few questions and i've started going threw the forums to see if they have been already answered.

Hi, welcome and good luck - Keep your father involved!!

Welcome to the Zoo.

Glad to have another Canadian around. This is the best little space in the world to get help and make friends. I have a 1961 Austin Healey 3000 so if you need some pictures just shout.

My first car was a 58 Sprite. Second car was a brand new 72 Spitfire. Wish I could find them both. Welcome to the forum. Lot's of good info and friends to be found.
