Heater Switch

Gentlemen:

In the past I posted questions regarding my heater switch. For some reason the cable was just too short.

Today I took Jack's advice and started to replace the existing cable with a generic choke cable. Initially everything was going OK, but when I hooked everything up I couldn't get enough tension on the cable to open and close the vent door between the heater and the fan. After much fiddling, I discovered that the cable was moving loosely about in the switch. (No, Jack, I did not solder it in. I probably should have.) I will take another run at it tomorrow.

Here, however, is the next REAL issue: When we were getting ready to hook up the wiring one of the contacts on the side of the switch "fell" out. (My son was working on it, so we'll accept 'fell out' over 'broke off.')

Can the switch be salvaged? If not does anyone have a surplus switch they would be willing to part with? I'd really like to get this thing working before the cold weather sets in.

Thanks,
Mike Pennell

No clue on electrical part, can you epoxy it?
