Heater question

I was looking at my dads tr3 the other day, and I was noticing that there is a fan under the dashboard that is no wired in to anything. Also where the coolant hoses come off the heater valve and off the other side of the engine they run above my battery and not to the connections on the mid fire wall. My question is how can I tell if I have a heater in there, and where is the heater core located in there. Thanks for the help guys.

If a heater core is still present behind the dash then it likely was bypassed for a reason... i.e. you may want to check it for blockage and leaks before hooking it up.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif Heater cores are usually a pain to replace and they do not change how the car runs. It has always been easier to "temporarily" block them off and (maybe) fix them later. Or just leave them for a surprise for the next guy!

yeah it looks that way I have been working on the wiring now for awhile and I keep finding wires that don't go anywhere. Also where the heater hoses are supposed under the dash there aren't any hoses there. The heater hoses auctually run above the battery. So I have no clue what is up with it. If I can fix it I can justify driving it in the winter.
