Heater pull cable.

My heater pull cable broke on my TR6. I called TRF for a replacement (the one that broke was 1 year old) any they say that they pulled them all off the shelf because of defects. No kidding. At least they were honest and didn't sell me another defective cable. They said they hope to have better ones in about 6 weeks. I will just use a glove to close my heater control valve.

Was it the knob plastic, Bill?

Reason I ask is, I've substituted "radio" knobs (ones with set-screws) for 'em in a pinch.

Bill-

I didn't buy the heater valve cable, but I bought one of the short flap vent cables about 2 years ago from TRF and it was poor. I was quickly distracted by other unfinished projects and I didn't complain to them - it is still sitting on the shelf. Great to hear TRF is watching over their quality despite lack of feedback from the likes of me. I believe the issue was less defect than vendor quality - in my case the knob would not stay on. Be patient and I bet Charles will get it sorted out.

Well, at least they took it off the shelf; but, a refund or credit memo would be in order. By the way, when it is in the low 40's or high 30's at 98% humidity, all pushed by some wind, it feels very cold what ever state your in.

TRF (as well as Moss) is very good about credit for defective parts.

As far as needing heat; well, we do get soft living here in the lap of luxury. OTOH, there has been a major freeway closed for days due to snow ...

Randall,

I meant that southern Southern LA. The one with the higher humidity, but still living in the warm lap of luxury. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Bill,

I have seen you mention your dealings with TRF in several threads over the years. I'm sure you are very confident that they will take care of you. They have always been very fair.

It gets cold down here, just like vettedog described; it just doesn't last that long. 3 or 4 days like that is a cold spell.
Now Summer...Summer that's a different story. Starts in May ends in October.
