TR6 Heater motor

Hey folks,
An electrical service has just informed me that my blower motor is shot. Now I understand that it was a 2-speed and I found a 12 volt motor with a plastic fan on amazon but its 1-speed but it does come with a kit for a older hook-up. Anybody think it might be a suitable replacement?
Thanks, Bill '73TR6

Hi Bill,

I'm not a heater motor expert, but I think the Smith's motor is actually a single-speed and the large resistor next to the motor (inside the heater box) drops the voltage to provide the slower speed. If your old resistor is OK you should be able to wire it like the original one. Getting the new motor to fit in the mount may take some fiddling.
