TR6 Heater controls stiff

The heater controls on my 1973 TR6 are very stiff to pull out especially the heater/defrost and fan control knobs. Any recommendations on what to use (silicone?) to free them up? Thanks for your input.

Visit the parts store and pick up a tube of dielectric grease. It will lubricate the sliding bits and is for electrical use.

Don't be too surprised if it doesn't help much, though. In my experience, stiff cables are almost always kinked internally and the only cure is replacement.
