i will be shocked if i get an answer to this today since i know that all of you are responsible shoppers and are, at this very minute, breaking down the doors looking for holiday gifts on this black friday!!

anyhooo... i've got a functional heater control valve which i'm trying to re-assemble. i see how the 'cogs' of the top part sort of slide onto the 'cogs' of the lower part; but i'm confused as to how the two pieces stay together. if i keep rotating the top part, it will eventually slide free of the lower part. is there anything that should be keeping them fastened together? or is the idea that the cable can't be pulled far enough for that to happen?

many thanks, and hope you all had a good thanksgiving!

Don't have one in front of me, but I think there is one rivet that keeps it from rotating. Have fun shopping!

Thanks Don, A forum search turned up a thread from a few weeks ago that showed a similar valve too. I have all intentions of picking one up but our credit cards are pretty much locked down until the christmas shopping is complete. If I can get the old one back together and it lasts me until the snow, i'll be happy

Don, when I click on your link, all I get is the Parts America we need your zipcode. Enter it and get nada but the same page, repeated three times...

I get that too. When I enter the zip it works fine. Trying entering the part description in the search area.Heater Valve 65 AMC

Steve.....there's a rivet that holds it all together.

For those looking for the part you can find the info here:
