I've virtually removed the old heater/battery plate. Considering the huge rust hole, the rest of that plate sure seemed pretty solid.
While removing the plate, I did some damage to the heater opening to the footwell. I'm trying to think of the best way to fix that-maybe weld a new piece of sheet metal with the proper cut outs before welding the plate?
Looking back on it, it would have been a whole lot easier to just replace the top plate instead of the whole assembly, but I'm too late for that. And I'll need to weld a new solenoid bracket on too as the new plate didn't have one.
Suggestions appreciated.
