Thought that many of you would be interested to know that I have been in contact with Steve Pike after his return to Australia following the "Healeys Return to Bonneville" event, and he tells me that he has plans to take the Streamliner to the "Lake Gairdner South Australia Salt Flats" in early March. See Dry Lakes Racers Australia.

I'm already making plans to be there. Expect heavy coverage in HEALEY MARQUE . (This will finally motivate me to take the plunge to upgrade my camera equipment.)

Stay tuned!

Reid, That sounds exciting! While you are down-under, why not stick around for the Easter National Rally in Victoria? I'm sure Steve has suggested this. I'll look forward to meeting you there.

Hello Editor Reid,

I would like to second the idea put forward by pan as being an extremely good one for you to follow up on. You will be certain to have a great time and meet people from all over OZ. Oh yes, you will see some great Healey's too.

Best regards,

bundyrum.

I wish I could stay longer. There are four great things to see and do on four consecutive weekends:

Lake Gairdner South Australia Salt Flats.
March 8th to 12th.
See www.dlra.org.au for more details.

Phillip Island Historic Motor Races.
March 19th to 21st.
The premier historic race meeting in Australia.
Several Healeys running. About 500 entries.
See www.VHRR.com for more details (Victorian Historic Racing register).

Australian Grand Prix F1 in Melbourne.
March 25th to 28th.

Austin Healey National Rally.
April 2nd to 5th.
About 300 already registered.
See www.ahocvic.com.au.

I'd love to make them all, but just making the first two will take me away from home for over two weeks.

Reid - I hear the Phillip Island Historics are a must see event, the Monterey or Goodwood of Australia.
It draws some of the best cars and drivers on the continent.

Hello Editor Reid,

So what's wrong with being away from home for longer than 2 weeks?.

Best regards,

bundyrum.

As editor-publisher of a monthly mag, deadlines rule my life, at least to some degree. And while there is some flexibility to them, time marches on and while I am playing things can get backed up.

Hello Editor Reid,

Oh come on admit it you have a truly exceptional team working on the magazine and you can't let them produce 1 copy without you letting your hair down. I'll bet they would let their hair down if they had a chance to get away.

But seriously, I understand.

It's a shame to go all that way just for 2 weeks.

If you insist on only going for 2 weeks I know you will be going to see Steve at Marsh restorations but make sure you also see the blokes at The Healey Factory.

I won't tell you of all the other places/people to see while you're over there (for 2 weeks)as you won't have time to see them.

Oh well your loss.

By the way, I still love the picture of your Healey.

Best regards,

bundyrum.

Nice record car pics in the new calendar; good job.

Always glad to see a 2-seater represented. Have you ever used a burgundy one (technically, Porsche Wine Red Polychromatic)?
