Healey owners make great friends!

Ok. Here's how you can define a true friend:

Last week I get a call from my good buddy, Roger Conte (AUSMHLY). He says "Randy, my Healey's back in the body shop, yours is too. So how about bringing the XKE down to my house and I'll detail and polish it for you using some new products I've found." I say "you will?" He says "yep, you've got a bad back so all you have to do is stand back and let me do my thing".

Fast forward to today, over three days this week Roger has wetsanded my entire E-type roadster and machine polished the car, investing more than 18 hours in the process. By the time we're done today he will have put more than 20 hours into my car! I've done almost nothing. Why has he done this? He's a good friend and he simply wants me to have the shiniest Jag at the Palo Alto All British show next weekend.
And it will be. Roger has transformed my E-type. Although nice before, it has been taken up several notches to near perfect show-car quality. The paint is about 15 years old and today looks better than when it came out of the paint booth. When the car is finished I'll post some pics. But you better wear sunglasses, this puppy will blind you.

Having been recently disappointed by another 20 year friendship, Roger has renewed my faith in the value of a quality friendship. He's a true Healey guy. Thanks Bud, you're the best!

Re: Healey owners make great friends!

Thanks for your kind words Randy.

Nevets, first used 1500, then finished with 2000, as Keoke mentioned.

Randy's car really did turn out very nice. Don't let him kid you, he did ALL the work. (see attached photo) Hey Randy, you missed a spot. Cheers, Roger
