Hi Dougie--

Thanks for the link to the sale. It's interesting how so many people either love or hate HT's for Healeys. I think they grace the car's lines.

I put a NICAL top on my 100 (pictured below upside down but double-click the image to enlarge and invert it) about 15 years ago and I can count on one hand the number of times I have driven the car without it.

I also purchased a factory top for my (now ex) wife's BN7 and, though both her car as well as the the seller's were straight and unwrecked, when I placed the top on her car there were visible air gaps around the wheel arches which new gaskets did not eliminate and it would have required a complete rebuild to have eliminated them entirely. Perhaps, like fenders, tops were matched to cars at the factory based on how they fit and it might be best to "try it on for size" before buying a hardtop.

Best--Michael Oritt

Sold for $5001.00 + $250 buyer’s premium + shipping if applicable….

I chuckle at the prices hardtops bring these days considering how many were separated from their original chassis years ago and just left in the garage when the car was sold. I wonder how many hardtops are still with the car they came with. I know mine is not.

I paid $2K for a nice two-seater top in 2004.

I saw one sell for $1200 at a local Healey meet-up last year. It was in such good shape the new owner immediately installed it on his AH roadster and drove it home. Both parties were happy.

That was a gift!

Five grand ....pretty good for the seller ! I can't believe what these original hardtops are bringing.... Happy I have one that came with my purchase years ago.
