Hey all,
Was interested if anyone knows if Colorado red over white/
cream coves was an available color combo with a red interior
for a BN6 ? Also, what is your opinion on this combo ?
Thinking about painting the coves but kind of tired of
the usual black. Just looking for opinions and suggestions.
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks Greg, they do look like mine ... or at least how they must have looked 40+ years ago! Cheaper than Moss too. I'm debating getting new or just refinishing what I have. The debate goes on ....

Thanks agin.

I think originally there never was a white/red or red/white combo, at least in the color book, "Austin Healey" by Donald Pikovnik.

In my "Austin Healey 100 SIX Colours" Publication No. 1531. Duotone Colours and Trim - there is listed the following-- Healey Blue & Ivory White, Black & Colorado Red, Florida Green & Ivory White, Colorado Red & Black, Ivory White & Black, Primrose & Black, Pacific Green & Florida Green, Pacific Green & Ivory White. It also list the trim & hood colours & has colour samples on back of each page if anyone's interested.Kind of a neat little pamphlet, huh? It must have been passed out in dealer showrooms, I've had it for 30 years or more. cheers Genos2

The Healey list had an argument about the color combos red/white. I think the registra for the BJ8 list said there may have been one Red with white sides. I don't care if it was original, I just like the look. See my attachement!

A friend of mine just sold a 100 6 at the auction in Monterey last summer for $57K. That is pretty good for a car which was painted Black over leaf green. With a leaf Green interior. Apparently, some people buy what they like, some buy original. It is your car.

Not really an argument, just stating what an original A-H publication stated,I say paint her what ever colors make ya happy! cheers Genos2

Thanks everyone for your comments and opinions ! Jerry's BJ8 looks very
nice in the red over white but I may just leave well enough alone. It's
in the original exterior and interior colors so I'll probably leave it
as it came from the Healey works.
Merry Christmas,
Mike
