[FONT=&quot]How many Franklin and Marshall Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity brothers can fit into a 1955 Austin-Healey convertible? Well, for the brothers of F&M’s Alpha Theta chapter in 1959, the answer was 31, plus one canine mascot named “Saturday.” After testing the limits of the car, the group headed inside, and jammed 39 brothers into the house’s five-by-10 foot telephone closet. Both totals were documented and reported by the Lancaster New Era, and considered “official” college records by the brothers of Lambda Chi! Back in the days when aluminum shrouds were cheap. Those must be the guys I bump into now and then who say " yeah, I had one of them in college. Paid 500 bucks for it and drove the **** out of it and sold it for 600". Usually they mean a six cylinder car. The photo is noteable because you can't see if there is a door handle, you can't see the wind screen post or the plinths for any reflectors. I think the number of spokes on the wheel might point to it's being a 100.

Good observation and I think you may be correct as this supposedly occurred in 1955. Also there does not seem to be any swedge line on the rear wing behind the rear wheel, making it a BN1, plus later six-cylinder cars had a prop rod to hold up the boot loid versus the one visible in the photo which was unique to the 100's

Ooo, you are good Michael. I meant to mention the lack of the swage line but by the time I hit send I forgot. I did not think of the prop for the boot lid as I have no 6 cylinder experience and until now I would have assumed they were all the same. And of course, I only glanced at the text and focused on the photo, so the fact that it SAID it was a '55 skimmed right over me.
