I don't know much about them except what they look like. I believe they were expensive when new. I googled them and there's some variations to them plus it looks like a lot of wood used around the bodies. Dual overhead cam 4 cam engine. It looks much like a Jaguar XK120. I wonder how good these cars are, and are they very collectible? First impression is good.
I think about 77 produced. I agree that the restoration costs far exceed the value of the car. There's some parts that would be very expensive to restore because they can't be purchased new or reproductions anymore. They are quite a rarity but suprisingly not that valuable dollar wise . I had the opportunity to buy one a few yrs back . It was a total basket case but complete . The price was right but the investment in the restoration would never be recovered . They are a beautiful car when done right and the right colour . Stunning in OEW .
The Riley 2,443 c.c. four cylinder motor used in these early Healey cars was indeed a twin cam, but not overhead. The cams were in the block and short pushrods operated the valve rockers in the cross-flow head.
Doesn't look anything like a Jaguar XK120 to me!
