Healey 100-4 Oil Pump Condition Check

I don't see any coverage in the factory service manual on what to check on the 100-4 Oil Pump. Would the key elements be the 1) Gear surface condition- scratch's etc showing abrasion. 2) Clearance between Gears?
What should the clearance limits? Are there any changes that can be made to the factory pump to improve its operation?
 
I'd expect you could use the specs of the 6-cylinder engine's oil pump to arrive at a go-no go decision.

As stated, looking for obvious gouges in rotor lobes and the cover.

I've been using a polymer dry-film lubricant coating on the oil pumps for a couple decades now, and I'm very pleased with that. You might want to radius internal passages where they make right-angle bends to minimize flow losses in those areas.

Please let me know the oil pump clearance specs for a six cylinder austin healey.

My ah 100m has been off the road for years, but when I drove it the oil pressure was around 37 lbs. hot, to the best of my memory. I, like mwagon, have been wondering about my oil pump clearance, also I may have read about an adjustment that can be made to increase the oil pressure. My memory on this is pretty vague. Does anyone know of such an adjustment?
