I'm looking for suggestion for headphones I can plug into my amp. I'm looking for something inexpensive with at least a 5' cord (straight preferred and 9'+ would be nice). Anyone know of anything?
 
1/4" or 1/8" jack?
 
You can pick up a decent pair of Yamaha headphones for under $50 at Guitar Center. I've owned a lot of gear over the years, and the Yamaha stuff always seems to be the most durable.

I wish you could convince my Yamaha receiver that it is supposed to be durable. Something in the standby circuit went wacky and now it shuts down on its own and wont turn back on unless it is unplugged for a while. It has already made two trips to the Yamaha authorized service center and it still doesn't work properly.
 
I'd suggest a pair of Grado SR 60 headphones.

That would have been my suggestion too (and I have a pair). Audio is excellent (and highly regarded), though this entry level is a no-frills set.

Wow. I've owned Yamaha keyboards for over 30 years. I've never had a single one fail. One of the keyboards I own has been on the road for almost 12 years. I can't say that about the Ensoniqs, Korgs and Rolands that I've owned. Ensoniqs were the worst. We've also used Yamaha drums, mixers, speakers, power amps...all very reliable.

I also used to own a Fender Rhodes. The Rhodes was great that you could fix it with a screwdriver and couple of wrenches. It had more in common with an electric guitar than a synthesizer. Still, an awful lot of weight for something that made just one sound.
