headlights

I've not specifically used that brand of headlights, but I used to run Hella 7" "E-Code" headlamps on my Range Rover. The auction states they are european spec or something like that, and if they are, like my Hellas were, they are not DOT approved. The focus of the beam is a bit diffent for DOT lamps and it is a great pattern for driving, but the DOT thinks it causes too much glare. Chances are no one will never notice, but it's possible a cop might notice the lights at night and give you a ticket or you may not pass inspection if the inspector decides to check them out. My Hellas were not quite so obvious as those lamps.

Hope that helps!

I have those lamps on my '74 MGB. Since I don't have a relay for my headlights I don't believe that they aren't illuminating to their full potential. The shipping on the lamps is an whopping $15!

I can also say the beam they produce is nothing like the standard halogen lamps I had in my car before. I don't know if its because of my car not having a relay or if they're not aligned correctly. The bulbs do produce a very white/blue light.

I can't say if I'm satisfied or not. If I were to buy another pair I would look into the Hella or Cibie H4 conversion lamps.

Hella does make a DOT approved lamp that is close to E-code that's called "vision plus". They come with replacable H4 bulbs.
