I need a little help on headlight replacement. I'm a newbee so bear with me please.
It looks as if I need to pull the front wheels off to access the headlamps?
Anything I should be award of?
Thanks
Gary

Hello Gary,

I'm assuming an MG with standard 7" round headlamps.
You need to remove the chrome bezel, which normally has a screw at just off 6 o'clock then ease it off from the bottom.
The headlight assembly is held with three screws and normally can be removed by pushing gently inward and rotating it slightly, you will see what I mean with the bezel off. Then unplug the wires from the rear of the headlight.

You don't have to remove the wheels to get to the head lamps. All you have to do is remove the Chrome trim ring from the head lamp assembly to access the retaining ring that holds the lamps in place.

my 76 MGB has a spring clip at 6 o'clock position and requires a flat bladescrewdriver with a little twisting motion to remove. Just be careful not to scratch the paint with your screwdriver.

..and while you're at it, might I suggest the Cibie 7" units?

I just purchased and installed some (courtesy of Daniel Stern lighting, who shipped 'em out to NZ). Even using stock 60/55W halogens, the difference is amazing over my old halogen GE sealed beam units (70/50W).
