Hi, everybody - My right low beam is not working. The high beam is fine, and both low and high on the left lamp work. There are three wires coming into the headlamp, two positive and a negative. Both the positives - low and high - have power. The headlight itself is good, tested it in the left side. Any ideas?? :wall:
 
Blue/red is the low beam, I've seen corroded/broken wires at the connector (inside the round bit) cause what you describe. I'd disassemble the connector and <span style="font-style: italic"> insure </span> the blue/red one was properly connected.

Another "quick-n-dirty" thing to do is connect the lamp and stuff a wire in the ground terminal (black) then ground it to a good clean point on the chassis/body someplace to bypass the harness ground. If the low beam comes on you have resistance in the ground leg someplace.
 
Maybe now is the time to rewire with relays and save your switches, get brighter headlights and some piece of mind. Not very hard, costs about $15 in parts (standard relay from anywhere and some connectors and possibly some wire and an inline fuse or two) . Just a thought since your chasing bad connections anyway.
 
Well, the situation is this: if you are getting power to the lamp, and the lamp is OK, simply switch it on and watch it light up. You can't have all the parts working and the entire thing not working.

So, since it's not working, either (1) power isn't getting to it, or (2) the filament is burned out. Since you tried the bulb in the other side, and it works there, obviously you are not getting power to it. The thing to do, then, is to see why you're not getting power to it. Wiring is broken or connections are corroded, or some such thing is preventing operation. If the low beam is working, the ground is OK.
 
If I had checked the bulb with a multimeter for a good filiment and did not have one I would replace the bulb. On second thought I would just do that anyway. think they are about 7 dollars.
 
OK, still working on it - had to put it aside for a few days. Will let you all know what I find....
