Forum, be honest (as I know you will)...a friend of mine installed the metal mesh/grilles over his headlights. I kind of like the look and should help with rock chips, etc. but what is the concensus out there? GO or NO GO???

You might check FL law regarding those. As I understand it, they are actually illegal in some states (something about blocking some of the light). I could, of course, be wrong about that....I don't have any personal knowledge about the issue. Even if it is, I would imagine the chances of getting a ticket would be very remote.

I think they look great on T-Series cars....maybe on MGAs as well....but not sure about them on the more modern MGB. That's my opinion....and you know what that's worth! :D

I was given a pair - and couldn't ever figure out how to properly install them - that said, I really think it needs to be part of the "total look" of the car - so, if everything else is stock, I suspect it will always look odd - but, if you lean to slightly custom - even a new wheel and cool rims - it could work really well. That said, your car - your choice!

Those stone guards were contemporary and available through Marion's "MG Mitten" in the mid and late '60's. If ya spent half a fortune on Cibie envelopes and H-4 bulbs, it wasn't a bad idea.

Like Dr.E wrote,

If you're going for a particular look, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
If only to protect a pair of $10 sealed beams from the local parts store, I wouldn't.

My 2 cents.

I bought a pair of clear headlight covers, that went over the headlights,
but behind the hold down in Montana, many years ago.I'm sure they're still available-
somewhere.
