I am in need of a new set of headlights before the inspection on my car expires, what are my options?
Also, has anyone had any experience with these headlights listed on ebay?? Link--> https://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...;category=33710

As I searched the old posts looking for a similar post, I found someone was looking for /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angel.gif"angel eye" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angel.gif headlights I think the ones above are, just wondering if anyone has used them before I order a set.
Thanks

Ask the seller if they are DOT approved, if not buy the cheap 7" headlights at a local parts store for the inspection. I had similar european headlights on my volvo, they were not DOT approved and I failed the inspection. I liked my Hella headlights they worked great on dark country roads.

Go to PEP boys or any other parts store and get Sylvania or GE halogen headlights. They cost $9.95 each and are very good.

I run the Hella lights with the replaceable bulbs. About $100.00 a set, but worth it in my estimation. I like to be able to see, and hate overdriving my lights!

I bought the ones off of ebay and the brightness was no more than the Hella ones which cost about $9.00. They also are very modern looking and, in my opinion, do not fit with the styling of an MG. Finally, the left one cracked when hit with the first pebble that flew up from the roadway, something that I have never had happen in 35 years of driving. Buy the cheap hallogen ones from your local parts store and get a much better deal and brighter light all at the same time.

Teddy, the lamps with the replaceable halogen bulbs that I use are noticeably brighter than the halogen sealed beams they replaced.

Without any doubt a component headlight system will give better light than a sealed beam halogen. They also cost quite a bit more so you would probably want to look into protecting them. After picking up a set of the Hella component lights on ebay (brand new in the box for $50 for the pair, a lucky find) I searched the web for a product I had heard of but never seen, a clear adhesive vinyl that will obsorb the impact of the majority of stones that you're likely to catch. I got enough of the material to cover my headlights and driving lamps for about $40, a bargain when you consider that replacing any one of the 4 lamps could easily cost more. I had to order it out of England, but it was worth the wait. As others have stated above, there's nothing worse than over driving your headlamps, especially if you live in an area 'where the deer and the antelope play', not to mention the elk.

Unless you like driving 100 mph at night just get a very good set of seal beam halogen lights at the local auto store. There is a new super bright one, Sylvania I think, that costs about $12-$15 each. Regular ones are less than $10. The others are a waste of money, it's only a MG.
