Head retorque

Hello everybody hope you al have a great 2011.
A simple question. Just noticed that the Triumph service manual calls for retorquing the cilynder head every year as part of the 12000 miles service. Is this still valid? My motor was rebuild four years ago and I did retorque the head after a few hundred miles, afteward I have not retorque it again with no problems so far. Do you think i should do it?

Most people don't, I think; and unlike some other Triumphs, TR6 are not known for head gasket problems. But it can't hurt and might help.

I'm from the "leave well enough alone" school.
Retorque if you have removed and replaced the head recently, but I think it's just asking for problems messing with it if there's no apparent problem.

It was only important to do it at the 1,000 mile service when they were new, or after a rebuild. I did mine at about 800 miles, which is what the machine shop wanted.
