when i got my 68 sprite ,the wiring harness was cut just before the passenger headlight ,no conectors ,bare wires.

have identified all wires to horn, turn signals , headlights, etc.

the pigtail on the one headlamp has a green , a black and a brown wire w/ no conectors., the 2nd headlamp is the same but has 2 brown wires in the same plug hole

any help to what conects to what?

also ,on my wiring diagram it shows blue/white and blue/red wire spliting to 2 wires and going to 2 lamps w/ the same number. I'm confused

thanks bob the new guy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif

Sounds like you will need to unwrap the harness back further and see what you have. I can not remember where the wire splits, but the blue with white is for the low beams, and the blue with red is for the high beams (or maybe I have that backwards) You'll need to remake this part of the harness. as for the wires from the headlamps... in essence the black wires are for the ground, then the green and brown wire are going to be for the low/high. Since someone has changed the plug you will need to test to see which is which.

Why did the previous owner do this? Maybe they installed a relay? Maybe a fire damaged the circuit? Whatever the reason, you need to test the circuits before reusing them so that you do not "let the smoke out of the wires".

Trevor is only "sorta" correct /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What you really "should" have is NEW pigtails. Got in stock.

Yes, new pigtails would help, put it sounds like the main harness has been cut as well.

i looked in he moss motor catalog ,on the last page. it has wire colors and what the corrispond to. bluew/ white stripe is high beams . blue w/ red stripe is low beams. the wiring diagram should have had one of each wire going to each headlight instead of both wires of the same color going to the same lamp

it also states green as hot w/ ignition on , and brown as always hot and of course blk as ground. so for the plug for the headlight does anyone know whitch is low beam and high beam green or brown?

thanks bob
