Tom - I am still looking for an od. I've been watching that one, shipping is around $340 to the states. I'm wondering if it isn't already priced out for me? With shipping it's right at $600usd. I don't know what a reasonable price limit is on these 3 synchros.

Well at Watford Classic Cars, a site i've used from time to time (they even had a couple of MGC bits I was after at one point)

https://www.mgbreakers.com/MGB.html#Transmission

They list 3 bearing overdrive transmissions (unrestored) as being 250 pounds plus presumably exchange deposit but also list them as unavailable This compares with 4 synchro overdrive boxes as being 140 pounds plus 100 pounds deposit exchange so this would suggest that these guys at least think that values on the early gearboxes are significantly more than for the later 4 synchro boxes.

and Andy Jennings

https://www.mgcars.org.uk/andyjennings/index.htm

who I have also used list the prices as 395 pounds vs 145 pounds and these would be unrestored out of car prices.

The one on ebay claims to have been overhauled (and jusdging by the condition of the casing in the photos this is probably true) so this would be valued as more.

hope this helps.

regards
