That is a man with wayyyyyyy too much time on his hands.

And a wife that is more understanding than any other woman on the planet to have that thing inside her kitchen or living room. I know the old line about "well, at least I know where he is every night", but I think this is a record for patience and understanding.

Please tell me he didn't pay $8725 to build that.

Can you believe it? For that amount of time and money he could have a real car!!!

Certainly he could have a real car for that kind of money, yet it's a true work of art, just amazing, and certainly well thought out...

"It can be broken down into 45 parts for easy transport to various
<span style="font-weight: bold">matchstick-builders conventions</span>" There are conventions?? When do they have time to go??! < insert appropriate Star Trek convention comment here :smile: >

Could he build a "garage" for it from the boxes the matches came in?
956,000 matches @ 40 matches per box = 23,900 boxes.
Matchbox = 2" x 1.5" x .5"
Standard size of a F1 car = 453cm x 180cm x 95cm
Minimal size for "garage" = 15' x 7' x 7'
Roof (flat) 15' x 7' = 5040 matchboxes
2 walls 15' x 7' = 10,080 matchboxes
Back wall and "door" 7' x 7' = 4704 matchboxes
Total matchboxes needed (minimally) = 19,824. :smile:

<wanders off wondering which is worse - building a F1 car from matches or figuring how many matchboxes it takes to buid a "garage" for it.... LOL>

I want to know what he did with all the match <span style="font-style: italic">heads</span>. :devilgrin:
